Thanks and congrats and see ya’ later!

Thank you to everyone who pre-ordered Chocolate & Vicodin: My Quest for Relief from the Headache that Wouldn’t Go Away the last few days! The Amazon book rank got up into the 3000’s, which is really great for a book that’s not even out yet. It was a fantastic birthday present, and I hope you all enjoy the book when it comes out.

Congratulations to Heather from Illinois who won the Subway Commit to Fit Giveaway: iPod Shuffle and $10 iTunes gift card and has accepted her prize. There were lots of great song recommendations in the comments of that entry. I also learned that I’ve greatly underestimated the popularity of Eye of the Tiger, which was second perhaps only to Lady Gaga’s Poker Face, which most people seemed more embarrassed to be listening to than 80’s power rock. Ain’t no shame in bluffin’ with your muffin’, y’all!

See ya’ later!

I’ve finalized the plans for a meetup this Thursday Saturday, October 30th before the Rally to Restore Sanity in DC. I emailed everyone who commented on the […]

The “Plus Up” Your Gym Bag giveaway winner

Congratulations to Roberta Hutcheon who was the randomly selected winner of the “Plus Up” Your Gym Bag giveaway! Thanks to everyone who entered. I’m sorry to hear that so many of you do not have actual gym bags. I have at least 3 stuffed in my closet that I received as part of various promotions from different companies. I feel like I should launch some sort of gym bag relocation program.

A winner and mutant strawberries

So, wow, the Bertolli Giveaway got 319 entries, which is the most comments I’ve received on a blog entry EVER. That includes the posts I wrote about quitting my job and my two book announcements. I guess the moral of this story is that the next time I have any big news to share, I should also give away an ice cream maker.

Seriously though, I must have spent an hour or two (grand total) approving all the first-time commenters that entered. I am grateful for all my readers and I thank you for visiting the site, but that didn’t stop me from crawling out of bed at 12:30am last night to turn off comments on the post after the entry deadline because I didn’t want to find 30 more emails in my inbox the next morning. Congratulations to Amy from Michigan who was the randomly drawn winner this morning! She has already accepted her prize. And thanks to Bertolli too!

In other news, look at the mutant, monster, strawberries I got at the grocery store yesterday. […]

Viral video contest winner

Congratulations to Kelly, who has already been contacted and confirmed her acceptance of her prize as winner of the viral video contest prize package. She was lucky number 63 of 83 entries. Thank you to everyone who posted my video on their web sites. I almost feel dizzy from all that spinning.

ETA: Kelly now has a blog at Losing it! Check it out.

Lipton bicycle winner

The winner of the Lipton bike giveaway was Christy, who has already been contacted and confirmed her win. I mentioned the winner in a blog post last week, but several people have asked me who won since then. So, there you go. It was Christy, not you, terribly sorry. I wish I could give bikes to everyone, but unless you want one still attached to a bike rack, I can’t possibly afford to do that.
