Hopefully my appearance on The Early Show went super duper fantastic and you are checking out my web page because you were interested in my book and not because I fell off the stool or spilled coffee on the host. Feel free to discuss the show in the comments. If you missed the show, I don’t know if/when video of it will be available online, but I’ll let you know when it is. If you are new, check out my best entries and take a look at my book, Half-Assed: A Weight-Loss Memoir. I really hope they let me say the title on TV this time.
ETA: Here’s the video.
Hi Jennette–I think it went really well! And I’m glad they used the name of the book–it would have been so half-assed not to – LOL. I was interested to see that, for what I think is the first time, you actually named the South Beach diet. Anyway, let us know when ABC calls you, to complete the network trifecta.
You are a definite inspiration! Can’t wait to read your book.
Hi–
Just saw you on CBS. You did great! You are a natural, and ought to consider a career in broadcasting.
This was the first that I have heard of you, or of your website, and plan to read some of your entries, as soon as I’ve finished with this message.
I lost 60 lbs. between August and May, through Weight Watchers. I did it to look good for my son’s wedding, but found a bunch of additional benefits along the way–including less painful joints, more energy, greater confidence, and a love of clothes shopping! Makes me wonder why I waited so long to do it!
Anyway, congratulations, and best of luck in the future.
Hi, saw you on the Early Show. Great Job. I have had Breast Cancer in the last two years and have gained too much weight. I am thirty pounds over. Last week I saw a photo of me and it made me feel horrible. I do believe that photo’s show you about 10 or pounds over it make me very depressed. I have started using the tread mill 20 minutes a day, eating bran cereal each morning and fresh fruit, salmon & tuna. Have cut out the bread, unless it E…..bread. I think I have lost 3 pounds in a week. It must come from the eternal soul to make changes in your life. Thanks for sharing your story and keep up the good work. Reiki is also helpful.
I just saw you on the Early Show. I noticed that you said the name of your book, but the host did not…funny! This is the first time I’ve heard of your book. I never really watch The Early Show, but I’m glad I saw it today because of you. I love your “down to earth” attitude about this topic. You are an inspiration to many others. You should feel super-fantastic about yourself. Way to go!!!
Hope you had a grand ol time PQ :)
I missed you this morning as I had to leave for work so if you can please post it like you did for the Today Show I so want to see it.
DARN – DARN – DARN! I forgot to record it. I hope they’ll post it or let you cause I really want to see your half-assed interview! *grin*
How was the BYOB(ook) signing?
It’s been TiVo’d and can’t wait to watch! Sorry I missed you last night. And I hope your book sales quadruple :-)
Crud! I forgot to set up the DVR! Can’t wait to see it if you can put it on your blog. How exciting for you!
Hi just saw your Early Show interview all the way @ Guadalajara Mexico, CONGRATULATIONS!!! you know I hope I get to travel to the U.S. and get your book, of course you inspired me to get off the coach and lose the weight. Mexico has now the second heaviest population in the continent and I dont want to be part of that problem.
What an inspiration!
You’re live! Great job!!
I was so happy to see you today on the Early Show! I’ve been reading your blog forever and I feel like I know you! Just wanted to let you know that I think you did a great job today and you seem very comfortable in the front of the camera.
Beautiful as always, Jennette.
Here’s the link for those of you who haven’t seen it:

Wow! I just stopped by the bookstore to pick up a copy of your book, and to my disapointment- none in stock! I’m so happy to hear that though! You’re doing fantastic.
I’m one click away from buying the book online.. to the check out I go.
Congratulations to you!
Great job on The Early Show. It is now posted at http://www.cbsnews.com/sections/i_video/main500251.shtml – Keep up the good work – I love reading your blog.
Great interview! But, that was weird, why didn’t she want to say the name of your book?
Hi PastaQueen! I just finished your book, and I loved it.
I do have one question however. I have been doing the beginning pilates with Ana Caban, which I believe you have done as well. As a tall fat woman, I cannot do “the seal” to save my life. Were you ever able to do it, and how much weight did you have to lose to actually get your arms twisted around like that?
Congrats on all your success!
You look so beautiful! Your skin is glowing!!! So nice to see you “in action” after looking at all of your still photos…You are really lovely.
It was AMAZING to see you. YOU ARE WILDLY INSPIRING!!!! I hope great things keep happening for you.

Great job! I felt lucky to catch you and you really did wonderfully. I was glad you were allowed to say the title, too!
The video of the interview is online here at Seal Press: http://www.sealpress.com/book.php?isbn=1580052339
One word for you: stunning.
You did great and looked amazing. I like how when you said you have half the ass you used to someone even clapped. Too funny. ~j
Bravo! I love it! Congrats on a sucessful appearence!
Great interview! You are so composed – an old pro. I am a doctor and I send patients to your blog for inspiration to lose weight.
@ Naomi F – I was able to do the Seal, but it took awhile before I could get all the claps in. I think I started when I was around 230 lbs (and I’m 5′ 9″). If you can’t do it, don’t feel bad. It’s common to modify moves to suit your body.
I just finished reading your book. I loved that you were so honest and I could relate to so many of the things you mentioned that people who don’t have this experience would ever think of or understand. I have been on my new lifestyle for 20 months and now understand that it is my new life. The benefits have been much more than the weight loss, as you pointed out. It’s bigger :) than I ever imagined. Thanks for speaking for all of us.
Yeah!! they let you say the name..Several times!! What is all the fuss about that anyway?? Loved the show..Was that you in the green room with Rick Springfield and his band?? :)

You looked fabulous (omg hair)
I just finished your book and loved it. You made me laugh out loud (kidnapping the obese Indianans and trucking them to Ohio, lol) and cheer for you too.
Are you going to try fiction writing?
Hi! Luckily I remembered about the show just about the time you appeared-so glad I didn’t miss it. You did a great job. So relaxed in front of the camera. Must be an old pro at it by now. Did you have fun?
haha, nice, you finally got to say the title!
you looked really relaxed up there.
Hi Jennette,
Congratulations! The interview was great!
Good job! You are a natural on television.
Beautiful lady, that was brilliant. You’re becoming a talented public speaker! So confident, and your part of the conversation wasn’t a bunch of blah-blah, it was actually full of very solid tips. And I love how many times you got to say “ass” on television. *lol* For me that would’ve been worth the trip right there.
Okay, that’s enough, sold. I’m ordering the book. :)
I just watched your TV segment that you posted and I am impressed with your sense of presence in front of a camera, your ability to talk slowly enough to be understood (a problem of mine) and the encouraging words you had. Congrats on all your hard work and I hope your book sells really well and that you help show people that losing a tremendous amount of weight doesn’t have to be something to be dreaded. Thank you.
Way to go PQ!!
I just received my Kickboxing for Dummies DVD (I ordered it because it is on your “I Recommend” page)and I love it! So much fun – and that’s saying something from someone who can barely walk and chew gum at the same time. I’m still not very quick with the moves, but I really really REALLY like the kicking part – makes me feel all GRRRR!!!
Thanks for recommending it.
You looked great on the interview and your 10 tips were really good. Maybe you should become a motivational speaker??? Except don’t live in a van down by the river…sorry old SNL reference!!
Keep up the fabulousness!!! =)
I have been checking out your blog for some time now and you are such an inspiration to me. I just ordered your book and look forward to all the inspiration you have to offer.
Great job with the interview! I rarely watch videos in blogs but I really enjoyed that :)
You are more poised and beautiful every day! Congratulations, Jennette!
You did a great job and looked great during the interview.
Hi there. I’ve been trying to catch up on your archives and not get behind in “real time” . . . it’s like reading 2 different authors! I just wanted to say that your still photos don’t come close to doing you justice – you look (and sound) great in the video. :)
Thanks! The hair was mostly my own doing (amazingly enough). The stylist barely touched it.
Wow, you did a great job! You seemed even more at ease than your last appearance… I guess this is old hat now, huh? ;) I really love that you’re getting a different kind of weight loss message out there than what we’re normally bombarded with. You’re really making a difference. Thanks again for all the inspiration you’ve provided me.
You are everything good about your generation.
You are as cute as a bug’s ear! Your tv interview yesterday a.m. was great. Also,I loved the book. Your style of writing is so humorous and entertaining. Keep up the good work.
Girl, you looked great on TV! Also gave some GREAT advice. Well done!
Great job on the show, and thanks for posting it for those of us who couldn’t watch. It was great to meet you the other night, and I’m looking forward to reading more (plus the archives).
Yay! Good interview. It seems prudish that she makes you say the title both times, but at least you were allowed to say it. (Ahh, these American times.)
Your hair looks GORGEOUS, Jennette! And I love your blog! Thanks for posting the video – as I live in Germany, I couldn’t see your interview on tv.
Great interview, congrats on the pub and getting to say the book name!
A month ago the reality of the pain I’ve put my body thru finally conquered the pleasure I get from eating a half-gallon of ice cream, with maraschino cherries. I’ve lost ten pounds since then and, NO MATTER WHAT, I’m not stopping until it doesn’t hurt to walk or to look in the mirror.
You were wonderful on T.V. Very natural, confident. And it was wonderful to see that old picture of you. Whoo-hoo for the half-ass! Thank you so much for putting yourself out there and for helping me to do it too.
I think you did a great job. I followed your twitters at Swizz. If you do a Swizz-style soiree on the West Coast that would be so awesome. If you do it in Portland Oregon we could totally be best friends.
you did a great job and look beautiful. I agree 100% about being public about your diet. I too have had so many “secret” diets. thanks for this reminder of why i’m blogging in the first place – to lose weight!
I don’t know. Non-fiction seems easier since I don’t have to make stuff up. Plus, fiction has to make sense, whereas real life can be completely bizarre.
Congratulations, Jennette! You did an absolutely beautiful job with the interview. Just finished Half-Assed. Thank you for the inspiration to try one more time. You are adorable and I am just tickled pink with your success. Enjoy!!
You sound like a pro at these interviews now and I’m so glad you finally got to say “Half-Assed” on network tv. I’m sure it won’t be long before you are sitting beside Diane Sawyer or Robin Roberts on GMA (my favorite morning show).
You look fantastic; your hair is getting so long.
How are the book sales? I’m doing my part in the publicity department here in Boston. I keep asking for them to restock it in my local Borders Books.
Keep up the good work!
Great interview, and your tips were really good! + wow, you’re so cute, and I love your hair.
Good job, PQ. I am sure you’re getting a ton of additional readers/hopefully BUYERS from that appearance. Well done!

Great interview, Jennette! You did an awesome job. :)
You were great!! I never cease to be amazed by you…your successes, the changes in your life and conquering shyness to appear on national tv!
Truly amazing…way to go, Jeannette!! You totally rock.
Boy, do you look great. I hope you enjoy your “hotness” without forgetting that you were just as beautiful inside before you lost that weight!
I’m still having trouble watching the video, but I wanted to let you know how nice it was to meet you again at BlogHer this year. I wish you incredible success with your book, your blog and everything you do.
Your are amazing I am so happy for you….
Congratulations — and your makeup looks fantastic here, by the way!
I so enjoyed the ES interview, wish I’d seen it live!
Congrats to you on all your success–Brava!
How exciting to see you on t.v. You are so cute and funny! You are a wonderful inspiration and thanks so much for sharing your journey.
