I’m not sure if it’s on news stands yet, but I was interviewed as part of an article about emotional eating for the January 2008 issue of Glamour magazine. It’s the one with Carrie Underwood on the cover. Read my pithy quotes about cupcakes here. They mention the blog and I even thanked you all for being so helpful and supportive. So thanks again for all that help and support!
ETA: I saw the issue as I was checking out at the grocery today and threw it on the conveyor belt. Here’s a scan of the article in print.
Did you see the Oprah show the other day? I was thinking about your blog when I read the site.
Oh wow, congratulations! Soon, very soon, you will have to change your moniker from Pasta Queen to Glamour Girl (tights and cape not included! ;->
Glamorous? definitely.
I think your totally Glamour-ous now. You go girl.
Glamourous….always. I’ll have to pick it up. You sure have gotten around lately.
Great comment! You have become a celebrity figure! Congratulations, PQ! What an accomplishment!
P.S. Fasten your seatbelt. I hope your website doesn’t crash from so many visitors!
Yes, you are GLAMOROUS!! Here’s to one cupcake at a time!
Congratulations! Wow! Quoted in Glamour! Impressive. :) Keep up the good work and we’ll see YOU on the cover!
Congrats! I loved the quote about the Ho Hos.
PQ – And I loved the Ho Hos.
“One cupcake at a time” I like that! Congratulations on the interview.
great! i dont usually read glamour, but i’ll pick this one up. congratulations!! (but did they really have to put a picture of BEN AND JERRY’S in an article about NOT overeating??
mmmmm…..chubby hubby…..
No, Thank YOU, PastaQueen.
Seriously.
Congratulations on the quote, and on everything in general. I have to say though,Glamour, as a magazine, totally sucks. I clicked through to read your article, and after I was done I browsed the site — if you click on their do’s & don’ts section, it’s mostly photos of unfortunately-dressed fat people with reams of evil comments posted below. Glamour is everything that’s wrong with our our culture as it relates to women, condensed into a monthly folio (with ads).
Thanks for being so honest in your blog though. It’s great for us readers and strivers.
Very cool! And you my lady…have been an inspiration to us!
Congrats on the coverage!
Oh my goodness, you get more and more famous with each passing day! Congrats!! Can I tell people I was reading your blog before all the fame and book deals? ;)
I love how you had the last word!
Wow, that’s really cool and glad you are getting so much positive attention. You don’t really get how many people YOU inspire, do you? :)
You are indeed glamorous but, more importantly, clever and funny and wise.
wow! You’ve become the go-to girl for this stuff!
Hooray for Ho-Hos!
And yes, this makes you very very glamorous!
I was just scanning that article, and your name popped out at me!!! :) (Before reading this, yesterday or the day before.) Very cool.
I saw the issue. Loved it, and decided to check you out. I don’t usually read Glamour I was at a friends house and wound up reading the whole magazine. Anyway, I am glad your blog is exists.
You are cute. You have been very successful with your weight loss. Hopefully you will make lots of money from your book sales and keep the weight off, too. But aren’t you kinda tired of talking about it? You do have a life outside of being thin, don’t you? It I do get on the bandwagon and get thin, will it consume my whole life? Will I have to told I am thin and cute every day to be happy? Just wondering.
PQ – I can’t tell what tone you typed this in – genuinely-curious-reader or passive-aggressive-asshole, but I will assume you are being genuine since I’ve chosen to live a happier reality. But, yes, of course I have a life outside of weight loss! I just don’t talk about it on my weight-loss blog, just like I don’t talk about religion at work or about my sex life with my dentist. This is a topic blog and I stay on topic. Weight-loss isn’t that big of a part of my life anymore, but it’s important for people to know that someone lost a lot of weight and is keeping it off. I truly love writing too, so I keep on typing.
Will I have to told I am thin and cute every day to be happy? I don’t know, dude, do you?
Sometimes your comments are as much fun to read as your blog. Can’t wait for your book!
PQ – What’s really funny is that today at lunch my coworkers and I had a really long discussion about, wait for it, religion! I might want to postpone my next dentist’s appointment :)
