I added a new blog to my blogroll this week – Fatty McBlog. Not really pro-fat or anti-fat, it chronicles two girls experiences being fat and is usually laugh-out-loud funny. Seriously. I was glad my boss wasn’t around when I read the Chinatown entry or about the Bench Breaking Incident because I was practically snorting with laughter.
And may I say I’m glad these girls are actually fat, 300 pounds plus, and not little 200 pound whiners who just have to lose 40 pounds. I know I should be more sympathetic to my “people” no matter how much they have to lose, but there is a big difference between being overweight and having your knees hurt when you walk down the stairs.
*Ahem.*
Speaking as a member of the under-200-but-not size-0-brigade, with VERY BAD KNEES, I beg to differ. Now, OK, I tore the meniscus in the right one because I was trying to prove to the skinny girls that were trying to have me kicked off the team – yes, seriously – that I could do anything they could do – and DID, and set a record at college that has yet to be broken; the tear didn’t come until later when I stopped working out regularly – but my POINT is that if you are not a size 0 woman in current Western society, you suffer. And some of them suffer because they think they should be blonder, or tanner, or more anorexic, or …
We can’t really beat the bastards without working together. A little solidarity, please.
But you are right about Fatty McBlog. They rock.
O-M-G those were freaking hilarious!
I think I peed a little! Ahahahahahaha! My cat is staring at me like I am crazy!
Yah, I’m with littlem, I need to lose sixty to be considered normal weight and my knees hurt going down stairs. We get left out of everything, there’s no need for the fat girls to start making cliques.
