Since the last Starbucks giveaway was so popular, I decided to do another one in December to spread holiday cheer (via Gingersnap Lattes).
This time I’m giving away two Starbucks Gold cards, a special card that gives you 10% off most purchases, among other things. It’s also black and shiny gold and can make you feel fancy (almost like having a rare black American Express card).
One of the features of the Starbucks Gold card is that you can share your 10% discount with a friend. To enter the giveaway, leave a comment on this entry telling me who you would share your discount with by 11:59pm on Sunday, December 7th. A winner will be chosen randomly. Anyone in any country can enter, but I don’t know if the card will work everywhere in the world.

I’ve contacted all four winners of the Quaker oatmeal giveaway and three of them have confirmed their addresses. However, if your name is Niki and you wrote the following haiku (Heart healthy flavor/Quaker oats’ gooey goodness/Warms me to my soul), email me girl! You’ve got oats waiting for you! The other winners were Fred, Cindy, and Jennifer H. Congrats!

In all the excitement of this weekend, I forgot that I have four Quaker Oats prize packs to give away! Then I promise I will stop talking about oats and groats and marsey-doats and doesey-dotes. Each prize is a 1 month supply of Quaker’s heart healthy breakfast products – including Old Fashioned Quaker Oats, Quaker Instant Oatmeal, Quaker Oatmeal To Go and Quaker Oatmeal Squares.
To enter, leave a haiku about oatmeal in the comments below by 11:59pm on Saturday, November 15th. A haiku is a three line poem in which the first and third lines contain 5 syllables and the second line contains 7 syllables. Four winners will be drawn randomly, not by the quality of their haikus. However, if it is not a true haiku, you will be disqualified. Count your syllables, people!
To inspire you, here’s a pic of Roni, Mo and me in the taxi on our way to the Quaker Oats headquarters, are faces beaming with thoughts of oatmeal. Let us be your muses!

Congratulations to the winners of the Starbucks giveaway who I have already contacted and all of whom have already confirmed their wins: Pauline, tina (with no capital letter), Tina (with a capital letter), Donna B, Megan, Chrissy and Sara. Thanks for playing! And don’t worry, I weeded out all the double comments so no one had an edge over anyone else (except if your name was “Tina,” apparently).
And thank you, web server, for waiting until after I’d drawn the winners to meltdown. Judging by my readers’ devotion to Starbucks, if I’d lost any of the over 400 entries, I would have been thrown in a vat of hot expresso by a mob of cranky, decaffeinated readers…or perhaps they would have scalded me with a salted hot chocolate instead. After reading all your entries, I felt like an overwhelmed barista during the morning rush. You also gave me some ideas on some drinks to try, but I’ve got to say, I’m not a fan of the Americano.
Another interesting thing I learned, this time from the 40 [...]

I’m giving away some more free stuff so the Internet will love me. Love me, Internet! Love me! I am the uncle you never see who tries to buy your affection with snow globes from Florida! I’ve got seven Starbucks cards worth $5 each that I will give away to seven randomly selected readers. To enter, leave a comment on this entry specifying what you’ll buy with your $5 card, which could be a coffee or an item from their new line of breakfast items. Yesterday I had the pumpkin and cream cheese muffin and it almost made the pain of the day go away. Almost.
ETA: This is open to international readers too, though I don’t know if the cards work internationally. It would also help if you actually have a Starbucks near you.
ETA: Whoops, I forgot to set a deadline! Comment on this entry by 11:59pm on Sunday, October 12 to qualify.
