Congrats to DietGirl on 10 years of blogging! (And you’ll never guess what she’s giving away)

Ok, that’s not true, you can probably guess what she’s giving away, and it’s not a two-headed squid.

My friend Shauna Reid, author of The Amazing Adventures of Dietgirl, has been writing on her delightful blog of the same name for 10 years now. I have to give her big props for her dedication and work ethic. Ten years is like a century on the Interwebs. Thanks for all the laughter and tears, Shauna!

And as if I couldn’t love her more, she’s giving away two advance release copies of CHOCOLATE & VICODIN to kick off her 10th Birthday Sell Out celebration. Just head over to this post on her site, leave a comment and you’ll be entered to win. Keep checking in every day, too, because Shauna’s giving away a lot of great stuff and entries are open to people outside of the US.

A podcast, a giveaway, and congrats!

If you haven’t listened to it yet, I highly recommend you check out the latest project from Shauna and Carla a.k.a. DietGirl and Miz Fit. These fab ladies have overcome time zone differences and the winter sniffles to bring you a fitness podcast called Two Fit Chicks and a Microphone. They solicited names for the podcast a few weeks ago, and this title is far more clever than the only one I could think of, which was “Not the Jillian Michaels Podcast.” Hey, it’s got great SEO! (Half of you are now mumbling, “What’s an SEO?”) This week’s episode is all about running. New podcasts should be published every two weeks or so, and you can even find them in iTunes! Congrats ladies, and keep up the good work!

If you haven’t already, be sure to enter the $100 gift card giveaway in association with BlogHer and Pepperidge Farm. The contest is open until November 2.

Finally, a big congrats to my friend Stephanie O’Dea, who appeared on Good Morning America today to promote her new book, [...]

The amazing interview with Dietgirl

You’re probably already reading Dietgirl, aka the amazing Shauna Reid, who lost half her weight and has been blogging about it since 2001. So you probably already know that she wrote a book called The Amazing Adventures of Dietgirl, and you probably already know that you should buy it and read it before the end of the year. (It’s available in the UK right now and will be out in Australia and New Zealand on February 1st. North Americans can order it from Amazon Canada. If you don’t live in any of those places, swallow the postage and packing fees to import it and make it the first book you read next year like I have.)

However, there must be some things you don’t know about Dietgirl, so I set out to discover them. Once we figured out the time difference, I pretended to be a journalist and chatted it up with DG on instant messenger about the book, the blog, and the possibilities of Lycra.

Dietgirl:

Hiya there!

PastaQueen:

Hey!

Dietgirl:

Good morning.

PastaQueen:

Thanks for agreeing to answer my stupid questions.

Dietgirl:

Jennette Fulda tells stories to the Internet about her life as a smartass, writer, weight-loss inspiration, chronic headache sufferer, and overall nice person (who is silently judging you). She does this at JenFul now, but you can still have fun perusing her past here.

Totally agree with this article. Definitely the worst mistake the series has ever made.
