Vote in the Blindy Awards

I’ve been nominated for a Blindy Award, which is given out by the Blog Indiana Conference happening this week in Indianapolis. If you have the notion, you can vote for me here under the second to last category, “Best Hoosier Blogger.”

I had a good time at Blog Indiana last year, but won’t be able to go this year because of other commitments, mainly that 5K race I’m running on Saturday. I debated whether to mention the nomination since I won’t be there to accept it if I’m fortunate enough to win, but I went to college with the guys who organize the conference, so I thought they deserved any attention I can give them. I get hives just thinking about planning something that huge. If you are in Indiana and interested in blogging and social media, it’s not too late to sign up.

Blog Indiana: I am not the only blogger in Indiana. Who knew?

As I was standing in the hallway at the Blog Indiana conference last week waiting for a session to end, two men were chatting next to me about burning down the place where I work.

“Yeah, I hate PastaQueen’s workplace,” one said. “They’re evil.”

The other man got out his business card and said, “I agree. I’d love to take them down.” He handed his card over.

Wow, I thought as I stared through the glass door willing the session to end. I’d better not mention where I work. And next time I’m at the office I’d better take careful note of the fire exits.

Despite this flaming start, I enjoyed hanging with Hoosier bloggers last weekend. I wasn’t sure what to expect from a first-time blogging conference where the main focus was our location. Indiana is known more for its corn than its blogs and physical location seems irrelevant when it comes to the web. Many people blog because they can’t find people […]

Jennette Fulda tells stories to the Internet about her life as a smartass, writer, weight-loss inspiration, chronic headache sufferer, and overall nice person (who is silently judging you). She does this at JenFul now, but you can still have fun perusing her past here.

This is probably a sign that I've got problems, but the idea of sleeping for 30 hours sounds really appealing.

Justin Bieber chastised audience for clapping on the offbeat: The biggest challenge facing musicians at shows is audiences with bad rhythm.
I'm linking to this because of the video of Harry Connick Jr. at the bottom, who manages to throw in an extra beat in the middle of a song to get people to start clapping on the offbeat without them even realizing. Mad skillz!
