Congratulations to Kristin from Campbellsville, KY who was the winner of the Pepperidge Farm $100 Visa card giveaway! Kristin’s name was drawn from over 400 entries. Thank you to everyone for participating. I wish I could give you all the prize, but alas my name is not “Oprah.”
I’ve also notified all the winners of the Voskos yogurt coupon giveaway. Five people have accepted their prizes and five…evidently don’t check their email that often. Victoria, Jennifer H, Thealogian, Julia, and Annie, check your email please.

I was walking down the toilet paper aisle at Kroger yesterday, when I was blindsided by this:
Either my local Kroger exists in a time bubble that has been forced one month into the future, or the managers are missing the month of November in their wall calendars, because as we all know, it is far, far, far too soon to be putting up Christmas trees.

I will be flying to Baltimore at the end of March to speak at the first FitBloggin’ conference, the brainchild of Roni of Roni’s Weigh and Green Lite Bites and a zillion other projects that make you and I look like lazy layabouts. Since this is the first conference, attendees and speakers will really get a chance to set the tone and shape the event. It might turn into an annual thing if all goes well.
Registration is open and there are lots of other cool speakers attending. I plan on having a good time and I hope to see you there having fun too!

Twitter lists are here! Twitter lists are here! And everyone on Twitter is twittering about the Twitter lists and, um, what exactly is a Twitter list, and why do I need it? I am usually a fan of lists, like my grocery list and my to-do list, but I admit I didn’t know I needed a Twitter list or that I was supposed to want a Twitter list. My general non-interest in the new fangled toys kids these day are playing is probably a sign of my gradual journey into old age. Oh well!
I did eventually look into these lists thingys, just so I’d know what everyone was talking about, and I can see how they would be useful. A Twitter list is a group of people you have put together under a particular label. Then you can go to the list page and read all the tweets from just those people. It is a good way for you to discover new Twitter folk you might want to follow who have similar interests as you. [...]

So…you know that race I was going to run while wearing a Halloween costume? Yeah, that one. Well, something rained on my parade. More specifically, it was this big, yellow-green blob:
I enjoy a good footrace as much as anyone, and I did trek downtown to gawk at the freaks document the event for you guys, but my costume did not involve an umbrella or a rain slicker, so I decided it was best to sit this one out. Good thing too, because there were two people in pink pig outfits with “H1N1″ written on their bodies who looked rather contagious. Between that and the wet leaves littered on the course path, I probably would have broken my neck and then developed pneumonia.
My bystander status meant that for the first time in my life I got to watch the start of a race instead of standing patiently at the back waiting for everyone else to move. Did you know they have people on bicycles leading the runners? I had no idea! I always thought that [...]
