Many people have been bemoaning the end of summer, but not I. Summer always feels too hot for me, so I welcome the cool relief of autumn, which is probably why fall is my favorite season. In the past few years, I’ve realized that with fall comes perfect running weather. It’s just chilly enough that I can run in a t-shirt and not become overheated. The sun isn’t beating directly down on me, slowly causing skin cancer. And unlike winter, there is still a fair amount of daylight in the morning and evenings giving me flexibility on when to run.
I like the fitness room in my apartment complex a lot. It’s much nicer than the fitness room at my old apartment, which was located in a carpeted room that looked like it used to be part of the lobby. Once I convinced my older brother that it is ok to take pictures at a bookstore (or a restaurant or a parade or anywhere else as I often do as a compulsive blogger), he took this picture of my book placed face-out in the memoir section of his local Barnes & Noble.
I’m nestled in between Marrying George Clooney and Loose Girl. I think I’ll just leave it at that.

As some of you already guessed, I moved in with a roommate a few months ago to help cut my rent costs. Sorry, I am not shacking up with a guy, which is too bad because in 16 months my COBRA runs out and I’m gonna’ need some health insurance. If I were smart, I’d start hunting down well-insured grooms right now. Anyway, I agreed to keep my roommate off of the blog as one of the terms of our co-habitation. However, I can talk about indirect events that have happened since we moved in together, in particular the fact that I now have cable television and it is the mental equivalent of eating everything off of that bakery markdown tray. It looks good, but it’s probably not that good for me.

The cut on my nose is healing pretty well ever since I was attacked by that rabid porcupine. I’ve been rubbing Mederma on it three times a day, which may or may not be helping. Here it is today:
And three weeks ago.
It is somewhat miraculous that the body can repair itself like that. I wish my car could do that. It would save me a lot on mechanics.
