Be strong PQ. Picture it covered with flies (do you need a shot of my bathroom b/c something crawled in there and died while we were having our house re-sided and we have a mega-fly infestation now. It’s the creepiest thing ever).

Everything in the grocery store is strategically placed to ensure that the customer sees and purchases these items. Coincidentally, it is always the foods that are the worst for us.

Had to write…Aug 22 I wrote the exact same thing in my (personal) journal! haha –

“I noticed the reduced baked goods at Walmart. Arggg, 2 of my favorite things..yummy baked goods, and a sale! But I resisted.

Thought that was funny. It wasn’t overly hard, bc the ‘new’ me wants the calories to really count. If I am having a treat, it has to be very worth it, maybe only a bite or 2, but certainly FRESH!

@gknee – Based how plentiful that stuff is after Halloween, I suspect I *am* the only one that likes it! Luckily, it is only once a year, and I have trained my sons to tell me I can’t have it. They adore bossing me around (two are 13 and one is 10), so that works pretty well. :)

Good for you. I somehow can’t resist the bakery goods when they are on sale. I buy them “for the kids”. Ugh.

Good for you!! I hate that cart too. There’s usually a table right when I walk in Publix. You HAVE to pass it to get in the store. And they always have cupcakes (my personal favorite) and those soft cookies that have the 1/2 inch thick icing. OMG.

Reminding myself that the backed goods on that cart are not fresh is what keeps me from buying. It may look tempting, but I’m sure it’s dry and stale.

Sometimes I think that donuts are following me. A couple of weeks ago at my WW meeting I decided that I wasn’t going to fall prey to the donuts at work anymore. After the meeting I went to the grocery store to get some produce and right as I walked in, there was a huge display of donuts! Then I went to use the restroom in the back of the store, which is located right behind the bakery, and all I could smell were the donuts. After leaving the store I drove past a billboard advertising a Dunkin Donuts! I then went to Starbucks for my latte and the first thing out of the cashiers mouth, was, “would you like to try a free pastry today?” I couldn’t believe it. So I just gave in and ate the darn thing.

Good for you for avoiding that cart. I don’t know if I could.
