I've seen these types of videos before. Hysterical and disturbing at the same time, like you said. Yes, there's a message there if we take the time to look at our own lives. How lucky we are that most of the things we repeat over and over again when we end up "going nowhere" can't be captured in a 2-minute YouTube video. ;-)

@Becky - I lead a celiac/gluten intolerance group. We've have members with both Crohn's and fibromaylgia who have seen great improvement (e.g., going off fibor meds) by going gluten free. Please feel free to email me via my website.

Best,

Shirley

I thought both videos were amusing -- but my husband's response to the hamster in a wok was "ew, a rodent in a cooking utensil?!"

I love the kitty one, I've seen it before. I think just about everyone probably feels like they just can't get to the top of the slide!

@PastaQueen - Yeah, I think we are smart enough to know they aren't going to fry the hamster. But it's clearly in distress trying to get out of there and to just sit and watch it for amusement seems just an eensie bit cruel. So it's just not funny to me.

The cats, on the other hand, were cute and funny because they were just playing and were free to jump off the slide if they wanted to. They were not trapped and trying desperately to get out like the hamster was. That's the difference to me.

Are you kidding? Everything. Every day of my life I'm like a hamster on a wheel. Constant motion, nothing accomplished. I don't know how to get off.

@PastaQueen - I seriously thought they were planning on eating the hamster at first. i was having thoughts about that scene from Disney's the little mermaid with the chief and crab. or maybe i was just overthinking it.

I am confused by a couple comments where people feel bad for the hamster. You know they're not going to fry him and eat him, right? :) No one is making him run. He could just sit in the wok if he wanted. I feel like it's the same as watching a hamster run in a wheel. My take is that he's having fun running around.

I guess we can't actually ask the hamster how he feels about. Sorry if that video makes some of you sad. I didn't intend it that way!
