Free Chick-fil-a in Indianapolis and Giveaway

Chick-fil-a

I meant to mention this earlier, but if you live in the Indianapolis area you can get a free breakfast item at Chick-fil-A every day this week. Indianapolis is one of the test markets for their new smoothies, yogurt parfaits, breakfast kid’s meal and house roast coffee. The items are also being tested in Austin, Texas and Knoxville, Tennessee. I got to try free samples of the parfait and the smoothies and they were both tasty. I have a weakness for yogurt parfaits in particular, so I hope that one gets launched nationwide.

Here is the schedule for the rest of the week:

Wednesday, April 22 – Chick-fil-A Chicken Biscuit

Thursday, April 23 – New Yogurt Parfait

Friday, April 24 – Chick-fil-A Chick-n-Minis

Chick-fil-a also gave me 10 coupons for a free smoothie and a free parfait. HOWEVER, they expire May 30 and can only be used in Indianapolis, Austin or Knoxville. If you try to redeem these in New York the counter help will give you an odd look and wonder why you tried counterfeiting imaginary coupons. I also have 10 free stuffed cows, the mascots of Chick-fil-a to give away. To enter to win one of the prizes, comment on this entry by 11:59pm on Saturday, April 25 telling me what your favorite breakfast is.

BTW, the winner of the Home Trends giveaway was Jennifer from a town in Texas I cannot spell and the winner of the Back to the Fridge giveaway was Susan from Minnesota, both of whom have been notified and have accepted their prizes.

Also, for reasons too complicated to explain, I accidentally posted an entry here last night that I wrote over a year ago and for some reason never posted. Which is why you should never do anything past midnight if you’ve been running around like a chicken with its head cut off for weeks. I will post the entry again eventually, after I’ve edited it a bit.

Good Morning! I’m super new to this blog, I just finished your book over the weekend and have spent the last couple days devouring your archives (did you know that they are low calorie? Go figure) Anyhow, I don’t live near Indiana so I can’t get the coupons but I would like a stuffed cow!

My favorite breakfast is a veggie omlet. Since I started my own weight loss journey it’s my go to breakfast for a good fill up before heading off to work in the AM!

Hey there, thought I’d try to win a cow. I love your blog, I’ve posted before, but then so have lots of other people. I’ve lost lots of weight, also, but I had surgery. I’ve had years of headaches, too, but refined sugar seems to be my biggest trigger. Go figure. I can have all the Splenda or Equal I want but hand me a Snickers and I’m on the floor in agony. I did find that making sure I had my vitamins regularly, and I mean every single day, morning and night with B12 shots every other week, made me feel 150% better, too. I know you’re heard everything, though, and have tried even more than everything, I did too. Just couldn’t resist suggesting what worked so well for me.

Anyway, my favorite breakfast is steel cut oatmeal. Irish or Scottish, whatever they call it, that’s what I love. I make a big batch of it on the weekend with cinnamon and almond flavoring and then heat up whatever I want in the mornings. Sorry, not drive thru or even fast food, but I’m a stay at home mom with a 4 year old at home and a 5 year old in kindergarten, my drive thru stuff is limited to happy meals. With apples instead of fries, or course. :) On second thought, maybe I don’t need a cow, the kids would just fight over it, and if I act the least bit interested in it, they’ll fight to the death. Hmmm.

Have a great day!

Boy, I should have proof-read that before I clicked “post”. Oh well. I am literate, though. I promise.

I want a cow!!!! last summer my friend and I were on our way to Virginia Beach and we stopped at a Chick-fil-a for lunch. They were doing some type of promotion and had a guy walking around in a cow suit and everything, it was awesome.

Anyway, I eat Quaker Weight Control Oatmeal (either Maple & Brown Sugar, Cinnamon or Banana Bread) and 1/2 cup of cottage cheese, both with blueberries every morning for breakfast.

I love your blog and your book!

Almost every morning I eat a veggie omlet and fresh berries. (If not that a breakfast smoothie) However my very favorite breakfast food is french toast. It is not good for dieting however, so I stay away from it unless it is a special occasion. Mmmmm boy, now I want some!

(I live in FL, so I guess I can only hope for a cow.)

I’ve gotten Tuesday’s & Wednesday’s freebies at Chickfila, and actually liked the yogurt parfait with granola. Looking forward to it again tomorrow!

My favorite breakfast is a breakfast sandwich with toast, bacon, egg, cheese, tomato, & mayo. I love having breakfast in hand.

I tried the parfait on Monday. It is quite good. I hope they keep it, too.

I tried to stop at the 82nd and Dean location this AM but the line was insane.

I don’t live in any of those three areas, but I’d love a plush Eat Mor Chikn cow! :)

My favorite breakfast is a burrito made from egg substitute with jalapeno, mushroom, tomato, onion, spinach, FF american and 2% cheddar on a flatout wrap. Sometimes I’ll add a protein like turkey sausage, light bacon or lean ham.

Oh, I forgot my favorite breakfast. Lately it’s been the Jimmy Dean D’light turkey sausage croissant, a banana, and a glass of skim milk.

The accidental entry was pretty cool. You’re almost ready to cross another item (Europe) off your list. I think building self-esteem is important to a persons overall well being.

Every morning I eat an English muffin with egg whites, cheese, and Canadian bacon. It’s from Weight Watcher’s Smart Ones frozen meals (210 calories). It’s fast, easy to prepare and delicious.

I think my favorite breakfast is toast with peanut butter, turkey sausage links, and a cup of skim milk. But that’s only because I know I shouldn’t say doughnuts. :)

I live in Austin, so I’m totally up for coupons! Thanks for the giveaway!

Hi there! I finished your book a couple of weeks ago and moved on to your blog. Love them both! I used to live in Indy (now in Colorado), and I love ChickFila. My favorite breakfast is the ChickFila chicken burrito. I used to be on Weight Watchers and this burrito was a nice way to treat myself without blowing my whole day’s points. Anyhoo – I am now pregnant and the ONLY thing that makes me nauseous is the (you guessed it) ChickFila burrito. :( I guess I am back to my 2nd favorite breakfast, an egg beater’s omelet with spinach and a little swiss. I think the little cow could fill the void left by the burrito?

My favorite breakfast is a breakfast burrito. I like to get them from Tropical Smoothie if I’m feeling really lazy, but sometimes I’ll make them at home.

If they had Chick-Fil-A here in Michigan I’m sure I’d eat there wayyy too often.

It’s probably the exact opposite of what I should eat for breakfast, but I’m hopelessly addicted to bacon, egg and cheese biscuits.

So I don’t live in/near any of the cities that are doing the promo, and my comment pertains to the deleted post, but I wanted to drop a note anyway.

Yes, Mulder and Scully get together. You really should see the movie that came out last year. Fantastic. It made the romantic in me – and the nerd in my husband – very happy!

A cow! A cow! My kingdom for a cow!!!

My favorite breakfast is a 9 grain bagel from HEB’s Central Market (Texas only, sorry rest-of-the-country!!!), halved, toasted, slathered with Brummel & Brown, and topped with slices of beefsteak tomato and fresh mozzerella, a few dashes of salt, and popped into the microwave to get it good and gooey.

Suddenly my healthy lunch looks completely unappealing… (sigh)

Hey, I live in Austin, didn’t know we were a test market for anything but horrible broadband metering, heh.

My favorite breakfast is:

Normal/being good – oatmeal right out of the package (no water, I know I’m weird) or a fiber one bar and fruit.

A little splurgey – a bagel with bacon and cream cheese

Super splurgey – chocolate chip pancakes, crispy bacon, and crispy hashbrowns. Mmmmm….

I love Chick-fil-a!!!

Yogurt Parfait would be a great breakfast followed by a Chicken sandwich on a wheat bun and those waffle fries for lunch!

Debbi • April 23, 2009 at 11:41 pm

Unfortunately I don’t live in those cities, I’ve heard of Chick-fil-a but I’ve never been there.

My healthy breakfast of choice lately would be an egg beater omelet with mango salsa inside and a bit of sour cream on top. My unhealthy dream breakfast would be a huge omelet stuffed with everything but mushrooms, side of pancakes, real syrup, orange juice and an everything bagel with cream cheese. sigh, but alas, the mango salsa 80 calorie omelet is the one that I will eat every morning. The other one will exist only in my dreams. I’ve lost about 100 lbs. and cannot ever return to the other breakfast.

By the way, I totally related to your post a billion years ago about how you seemed to SKIP the size 22/24 or something like that. I hadn’t been a 22/24 since high school and when I bought 2 pair of clearance jean shorts (NOT the elastic waist kind), one a size 18/20 and the other a 22/24, I was shocked to find that the 18/20 fit loosly and the 22/24 are unwearable. I never felt so happy about “wasting” money in my life!

Chick-Fil-A Cow! Yippee!

My favorite breakfast at the moment: polenta made with some soy milk. (I’m guessing regular milk would be just as tasty, but it goes bad faster. So, as long as I’m drinking my own milk – soy it is.)

Cookies are also a good breakfast. But that goes without saying.

My favorite breakfast for a day when I need to stay full (due to a late lunch) is a whole grain hot cereal. I really like steel cut oatmeal, and I have also enjoyed whole grain teff.

I live in Indianapolis and I am hoping for the coupon!

Also, a couple of weeks ago you wrote about Sound Medicine, an NPR radio show about health information. I love that show! I too was surprised to learn that it is not a national show, because it is so well done. Barbara Lewis, the show host, has some great doctors and researchers and it is interesting to listen to!

Anyway favorite breakfast, open-faced peanut butter sandwich with a spoon ful of orange mamalade & steaming cup of hot tea.

Cows are cute!

I am in Indy. I am currently reading your book.

My favorite breakfast is a restaurant Denver Omelet (no cheese) and lots of home fries and pancakes. I don’t have any idea when I will eat that again, so the memories will have to sustain me.

Now, I like oatmeal w/ bananas, nuts, honey and flax seed. Or, if I am feeling creative, I will do french toast (organic whole wheat bread w/ egg whites). I saute a banana in a tiny bit of sugar. So yummy!!

I hope you know that your Cow giveaway had it’s effect on me because I ran out and ate a Chicken Fil A dinner tonight. Yum!

It is good food, and they really do have some healthier choices on their menu, but what made my experience so great was the service.

I don’t know what it is about Chick Fil A people, but they are so nice — every one of them has been ultra polite. Do they get their service training at Disneyland? They really must.

And you gotta love a place that gives a kids meal in a paper bag covered in suggestions to kids for “How to Be Kind”. Wow. That is a *really different* kind of kids’ meal! It included some food for thought — for me, mostly, since my kid is too small to read.

Still — they gave us a book anyway.

Well, the coupons won’t work in Rancho Cucamonga, but the food is good out here : )
