Last week at a family gathering, a male friend of my 17-year-old niece elbowed one of the other boys, nodded at me, and said “She’s a MILF.”

Last night in a music store, I saw a girl buying a rare, pricey copy of Paul Simon’s GRACELAND on vinyl.

And I remembered getting the exact same record…as a 17th-birthday present.

The grey hairs and the wrinkles took over instantly.

On a recent visit to my daughter (26 y.o.) and realizing too often that I was acting/speaking/thinking just like my mother used to when I was 26 y.o. (& older!).

Losing my waist, and remembering vividly my mother lamenting the same thing probably 25-30 years ago!

I vividly remember trying to read the tiny print on i think it was a five dollar bill to make sure it wasn’t fake (part of my job). Well .. I couldn’t because it got blurry as I looked closer to it! Oh darn!! The older lady next to me said I can bring a magnifying glass for us> I was speechless and then laughed. But I had to tell my husband this. He laughed too. Great!

Late to the party here, but had to say:

1. Realizing a couple of years ago, in the last days of my 20s, that I am my mother, and my mother is her mother, and so on and so forth.

2. Learning recently (via NPR, of course) that a sanitized version of Rent is now being performed in high schools.

3. Hearing songs by U2 and The Police on “classic” rock stations.
