Since the last Starbucks giveaway was so popular, I decided to do another one in December to spread holiday cheer (via Gingersnap Lattes).
This time I’m giving away two Starbucks Gold cards, a special card that gives you 10% off most purchases, among other things. It’s also black and shiny gold and can make you feel fancy (almost like having a rare black American Express card).
One of the features of the Starbucks Gold card is that you can share your 10% discount with a friend. To enter the giveaway, leave a comment on this entry telling me who you would share your discount with by 11:59pm on Sunday, December 7th. A winner will be chosen randomly. Anyone in any country can enter, but I don’t know if the card will work everywhere in the world.

I would share my Starbucks card with my friend Pat. She goes through a lot at home with a husband who has mental issues but doesn’t deal with them. I live in Canada but close enough to the States that if the card doesn’t work here, we’re in Washington quite often.

I would share my Starbucks Gold Card with my friend David. He and his wife have a toddler at home, and therefore he is almost always a little sleep-deficient.
He drives a metro handicapped bus all day around the city, and is patient and kind to all of his clients. Some are mentally handicapped, others are very large and wheel chair bound. It can take 10 minutes just to load a person safely into the van. If anyone ever deserved a 10% discount on coffee, it’s him.
Actually, I’d give him the card and let him share it with me!

I think it would work in Chile. They actually honor most international cards and what not.

Since I’ve retired recently, my SB visits are much fewer and far between, so this would be great!

I will totally share this card with my husband — there is this really cute little starbucks with a fireplace in Mcclean, VA. i would go there with him, get some hot latte and sit and chat with him. We have been through a lot of fighting this year, almost to the point of separating. but i realized i love him still and he does too. So we will be trying the next year – to make the marriage work.
Am i sound too sad? But i am excited for new beginnings. Too bad, you are not offering a vodka gift certificate. maybe next year.

Depends on how it works. If I can share it on the spot, I’d share it with whomever is in line behind me in the morning. If I have to designate someone somehow, I’d probably share it with my ex-husband, who doesn’t have the cash to spend on the ‘Buck very often.

I think if I won the card I’d give it to my daughter and hope that she’d share the discount with me. She’s 18, earning her way through college as a waitress. She lives on her own and is struggling like most Americans to make ends meet. She loves her java which is often a necessary extravagance during finals.

Wouldn’t it be fun to share the 10% with the person in line behind me? Might be complicated.. are they paying in cash? do they get nervous that this stranger is doing something.. well strange? would I require them to pay me exactly the cost, less 10% and do I really want to do the math and deal with making change?. But, it would be pretty damn cool. Too bad it isn’t a FREE one for a friend (or stranger).
That said, I’d probably share the 10% with anyone I could possibly drag along with me to hang out for a few.

Oh, who would I share it with??? My first thought was the volunteer service coordinator at our school. She always has a smile and is willing to help anyone. She helps me get volunteers in my classroom, AND I can go to her when I NEED a piece of chocolate!

This past year has been a real emotional rollercoaster for me and my children…with a divorce and move from one country to another among other things…and my sister has been there supporting me with her time…money…and much needed advice from the start. Until I get back on my feet I havent got much to repay her with for her generosity etc…so this would be a small token of appreciation for her.

Actually, I’d double share because I have two amazing friends who are SO supportive of my mental and physical health by giving and giving to me since my unemployment in October. And both need an extra ‘shot in the dark’ to keep after their kids and crazy fitness schedules.
One is my personal trainer who so graciously demands that I continue to come into the gym even though I haven’t had a job since September and can’t afford to pay him.
The other deserving person is my friend that teaches my kick-butt boot camp and hip-hop classes. Our “treat” to each other after class is an iced vanilla latte.

I wish I could share this wonder-card with more than one person. I would definetly share this card with my dad, who claims to “hate” starbucks, even though when I bring it to him, he says its really good. Whenever I call to see what he wants, he gets all upset and says “I don’t like that fancy schmancy coffee crap that you young people like”. I feel that if he had a discount, maybe he would admit his love of fancy schmancy coffee crap.
I would also share with my friend Shelly who is beyond addicted to starbucks. She goes there at least once a day, usually twice. Since she and I are in denial that we are in a recession, and continue to spend money like we are millionaires we would benefit from discounted coffee.

Good morning! If I won, I would share with my daughter’s teacher. He and his wife (her former teacher) teach at Woodland Hill Montessori which, as every good Montessori parent knows, does not pay even half of what public schools pay. So these guys teach (and eat) with their whole heart. Oh, my mom, hands down. Her old workplace was right next to a Starbucks – not that this is an oddity in itself – and on the days that I went in with her (she’s a librarian, I was a college student, you do the math), we’d always hit the ‘Bucks before even unlocking the gates. I clearly recall going from getting myself a tall chai latte and a croissant to getting a grande black with a couple of Splendas, bringing my own breakfast. But, yeah, after all the caffeine she helped to dose me with, I figure I owe her at least ten percent off a few cuppas.

Hey PQ. Glad you are basking in the glory of a familiar illness. Wait. What? I understand what you’re saying though. Dude, I don’t know how you handle having a headache that has not gone away EVER for, I’m not sure how long, a year? You’re a trooper, that’s for sure. I started reading your blog a little over a year ago while I was going through chemo. And throughout it all, you still run marathons, and go to conventions and oatmeal weekends, and in your pictures you are smiling. I think they’d seriously have to put me in a mental institution if I was going through the same thing.
I know it probably gets aggravating hearing everybody’s suggestions and opinions on how to heal you, but I think everyone just loves you and wishes they could mention an option that will work, so they can feel like they helped you out. I know I wish I could. But, unfortunately, I gots nuthin’. I just hope when you wake up tomorrow that your headache is magically gone forever.
BTW, if I won the Starbucks card, I would share it with my cutie. We like to go and sink into the big comfy couches and talk about all kinds of stuff.

Too easy… I’d share it with my husband who is the coffee fiend in this household! Seriously, he drinks like a 32 ounce glass of coffee for breakfast, LOL! And, he roasts his own coffee beans!
So I’d just turn the whole thing over to him to enjoy… because I mostly drink tea. Though I might let him treat me at least once.

I’d share my rewards with my friend Cindy. Heck, I’d probably buy her a few cups of coffee–iced non-fat mocha WITH whip.
She’s a single mom, student, not a lot of cash for the niceties (spelled necessities) like Starbucks coffee. And she’s a great friend.

I’d share with my gorgeous weight-loss supporting boyfriend, who has faithfully put up with every diet-related temper tantrum I’ve had since June. (50 pounds gone since then…20 more to go!)
And I suppose I’d share indirectly with my cat, who enjoys licking the plastic lids of Starbucks cups after I’m done with them. She has a thing for soymilk.

I’d share this card with one of my best friends, as it is our habit to go to Starbucks after we work out at the gym together. Don’t worry, we order Skinny drinks (fat free, sugar free) so we don’t undo all the good we just did in the gym.

I usually treat myself twice a month, on payday. This card would come in really handy. :) I would share mine with my Mom and StepDad; I got them hooked on White Mocha Frappuccinos. They always get a Venti and share it.
