@Donna Belbin - I am a nurse in a busy ER. I also have Plantar Fasciaitis. My physician recommended the Crocs RX Relief. After much refusal to wear the ugly shoes that every other nurse was wearing I had to give them a try. I had tried every brand of tennis shoe available. But the Crocs Rx Relief did provide great relief. I find myself buying clothing that I can wear with my crocs.... need I say, I don't just wear them to work. I wear them all the time. I don't think you would be disappointed.

@Donna Belbin - I also have PF - I LOVE the crocs (or payless's cheaper version) the definitely helped my heel pain - which was peristant and aggravating to say the least! I'd give them a try by starting with one of the cheaper versions. Don't go around barefoot with PF that will only aggravate it.

@moonduster - did they really help while your heel healed? I'm suffering with plantar "f" right now and heel pain insole inserts by dr. scholls have not helped much. i would be willing to try the dishwashable shoes if it meant that i didn't have to be afraid to take a step for fear of excruciating pain!

@K - They have only made my feet sweaty if I wear them in the summer without socks. With socks, there is never any dampness unless I find a puddle or it rains. The vent holes seem to keep my feet nice and cool, and that is saying something as I am always overheated! I too love that you can wash them out, though I will not put them in the dishwasher, I just do it by hand.

The big concern I would have is... do they make your feet sweaty? They are, after all, plastic.

Maybe not such an issue in winter. Or maybe it is. Sweaty socks lead to chilly feet.

I agree that they polarise people! I've noticed something similar with Birkenstock sandals - either people are devoted, or they're all "yuck, ugly clumpy hippie sandals". I will admit I don't much like the look of the classic two-straps ones, but I got some with toeposts this summer and am a convert.

I don't have to take sides in the Crocs debate since I couldn't put my orthotics in them anyway. But if they're comfy and they make you feel good... why worry about what they look like?

Crocs saved my life when I was in Vegas for the first time. I had thought the three pairs of runners I brought would have been good enough but no, my croc rip offs were awesome.

I love them for gardening or mowing the lawn or stepping out on the deck. The lightweight material is great.

I've never been too concerned about fashion so wearing them doesn't make me feel like an ogre.

Yes, Crocs are very slippy on slippy surfaces...I discovered at the tender age of 40 that I could do the splits...it wasnt a welcome or painless discovery either. But they are comfortable..especially for long haul air travel.

I love my Crocs. I wear them all the time, and the best part is that you can wash them in the dishwasher when they get filthy.

A word of caution though: if the surface you are walking on is in anyway wet, do not step on anything painted. For example - the painted lines of a crosswalk. They are dangerous when wet and wearing Crocs. You will skid out of control and flap your arms wildly to maintain your balance. (No, this didn't happen to me, why do you ask?)

My best friend is from the town Crocs were first tested, Red Oak, IA, and she sent me a pair of light blue ones. I had just gotten out of the hospital and been diagnosed a diabetic. They were so comfortable. I think the ones you tested are kinda cute with jeans. I guess I am just a "shoe nerd"! ;) Thanks for the review!
