dena - Basically the plan for maintenance is the same plan for losing. Exercise. Eat right. Weigh-in regularly. Try to keep things fresh by trying new foods and exercising. I just won't be trying to make the numbers go down anymore but instead keep them right where they are. If you are talking about a plan for the blog, I plan to keep on blogging even when I'm in maintenance, at least as long as I have things to say.

Hey PQ,

I have been following progress and girl, you look fan-freaking-tastic!!! Your story is so inspiring!

I wondered if you yet had a plan for the switchover to maintenance, once you reach your goal?

As "e" pointed out, "Half of Me" does need a descriptive subtitle.

And you couldn't do better than "The Last 200 Pounds are the Hardest". [Applauds wildly]

Good move!

Not to get all Little Grasshoppery on you, here, but just as with your sharp self-observation about weight loss, you clearly have an unusual ability to see what's actually going on, and adapt. And once again, it saves the day.

In this case, it would have been nearly impossible for most people to see what was right in front of them, once they had simply gotten the idea in their heads that there had to be a change. They would have thought the commenters were just missing the point.

I think it DEFINITELY needs a descriptive subtitle.

Half of Me alone could mean many different things -- someone in a co-dependent relationship, someone with emotional issues, etc. etc.

The subtitle conveys what the book is about --the crazy amounts of weight lost, the author's sense of lighthearted humor, etc. It also alludes to the fact diet/exercise were involved, as opposed to surgery. I like it!

Excellent! But I still don't understand why there has to be a subtitle at all. As a matter of fact I think it takes away from the punch. Not that that will stop me buying it. :D XXX

Hurray - I'm so glad you kept the Half of Me title. I will definitely be buying your book and recommending it to others. You have inspired and encouraged me more than I could ever express in a comment :-)

I have to admit I don't love the subtitle; it sounds a bit too self-deprecating or something. And for some reason "Half of Me: The First 200 Pounds are the Hardest" sounds better to me... but that could just be because I am in a funky mood today. I would buy the book no matter what. The Half of Me part is the real attention-grabber so as long as you have that in there I think the title will generate a lot of interest.
