		<description><![CDATA[My gym had a strange and inexplicable addiction to Motown hits. I think they only had a few CDs on rotation (the Motown one, Franz Ferdinand, a dancey one).

Then they renovated everything, and now all the cardio machines have TV screens. They did this at exactly the moment I got an iPod, with the result that the iPod hasn&#039;t been used as much as I thought it would. And that my knowledge of awful music videos has increased.

You are so right about the motivating value of a good fast beat. I am coming to hate hip-hop, because its beat tends to be much too slow for me to get into a satisfying cross-training rhythm. Also, the lyrics are frequently rather, um, lame.
