New Layout!

Yippee! I took some vacation time this week (the first all year because I am an overworked American) and I decided to finally create a real design for this blog. It came out better than I’d hoped. I took the “Half of Me” theme and incorporated it in both the logo, which is shaded two different colors and split in half by a line, and via the background images on the left which show half of my body when I weighed 372 pounds. If you visit different pages via the menu at the top you’ll see me from different angles.

I’m kind of grossed out by the way I used to look, but the truth can be ugly, no? I’m a firm believer that the best art, writing etc. is based on truth. The first step in weight loss is confronting the sad truth that you are obese, which can be more difficult than it sounds.

I’ve added a couple pages to the site too which will be filled with content very soon. Just your basic stuff – a mission statement, links, contact info and a progress page which I hope to fill with pictures and graphs of my weight loss.
