The nice painter lady who works down the hall noticed I’ve gotten skinnier! We ran into each other as we were walking down the hallway to the office and she said she’d noticed I’d lost weight. This makes her the first person who I am not related to who has noticed I’ve slimmed down. She is now my favorite person in the building :) Everyone go buy some art from her.
Strangely, my boss has not yet noticed my 70 pound loss, or if he has he’s kept it to himself. Granted, he sees me all the time, so maybe he hasn’t noticed the slow decline. 20 bucks says I’ll have to lose over 100 pounds before he says something.

Many people may never tell you that they have noticed you have lost weight. I think this may be in part to people generally don’t like change. You are changing and you are in control of that change.

I think alot of times people notice but don’t say anything. Weight is a touchy subject and people may not know what to say or if they should say anything at all. I know in my younger years as I lost weight I would have been MORTIFIED if anyone said anything about it because if they had noticed I lost weight then that means they noticed that I was fat to start with. I guess I preferred being in denial that a 5’11″ 300+ high school senior didn’t look THAT much different from everyone else.
Anyway, congrats on your success. I am really enjoying catching up with your archives. I have a looooong way to go (about 150 to loose) so it’s really encouraging to see how you progressed and the struggles you encountered.
